Are you a new parent? Have you ever wondered what you need to bring to grandma’s house? You need a babysitter and she is happy to do it. If you have kids, then this is a serious topic.
Most people I know have issues with what to bring to grandma’s house. Some moms don’t bring anything, which leaves grandma empty-handed. Some moms bring everything but the kitchen sink. Other moms just bring the bare necessities.
And don’t forget – your kids are dead set on bringing their favorite toys or whatever makes them comfortable like blankets and pillows.
My mother-in-law was happy with what I would bring her. In fact, she was thankful. Her sister would bring her kids over with nothing She wouldn’t leave anything for my mother-in-law, not even diapers. I was completely the opposite. I made sure she had everything she needed for my daughter.
Another thing I brought for my mother-in-law to keep at her house was a playpen. The only reason I did this was because someone gave me an extra one and I didn’t really need it. It kept her from having to buy one, too.
So, this is what you should do. I suggest bringing these items in a diaper bag:
- Diapers – 3 or 4
- Wipes – small pack or travel size
- Medicine – Tylenol, Boudreaux’s Butt Paste, GasX and/or Oragel
- Extra clothing – one set of top & bottoms, onesies
- Food & snacks
Bringing all of these things let’s her know you appreciate what she is doing for you and your significant other. She will want to keep your kids more and more. Just think, you will have more date nights and girls’ nights!
